"Hijackers Google" Quietly Infiltrate

Search a delta-search site which allegedly spread by the method of Search Engine Hijacker.

Users generally use popular search services, such as Google (and perhaps Bing), on their computers. However, there are applications that are known to secretly replace the search.

As noted analyst Alfons Tanujaya antivirus, application type known Search Engine Hijacker emerging to infect users in Indonesia.

"Amazingly these adware programs openly presenting himself as a legitimate application," said Alfons.

What is the impact? Some antivirus programs will not consider an application such as a malicious program
which must be eradicated.

How do they do that? Alfons said, the search engine hijackers entered through a free application. Well, it's a free application installed voluntarily by the user.

As part of the Usage Agreement, a free application had requested the installation of an application search. As a result, applications that "gray" was being "white".

Alfons said, Search Engine Hijacker will change the settings so that the search in the user's browser is directed to a specific site.

"There are some Search Engine Hijacker which spreads in Indonesia, delta-search.com, tuvaro.com and conduit.com," he explained.

According to Alfons, problems arising from the existence of such an application is messed browser settings and the potential for information theft.

The information stolen included composing user profiles through search activities that are not through the user's permission.

Another thing that also concern is the transfer of results to sites containing malware and harmful, pornographic or site potentially fraudulent activities.

Alfons was said, the search results include sites that hijack it has a quality that is far worse than a search on popular services such as Google.

One of the sites studied Alfons is Delta-Search. The site, he says, ranks very high in the world thanks to this kind of behavior.

Launched in late 2012, the site was said to have reached rank 39 in Indonesia. While in the world, he is able to go beyond a certain popular websites, including Wordpress.com.

"If this is achieved by way of defraud victims, of course it is to watch and the computer users need to know what really happened to his computer," Alfons stressed.
